Our commitment to environmental stewardship, innovation and healthy environments is embodied in EcoSmart. As an industry leader, we have a responsibility to be at the forefront of green cleaning. To that end, we have committed resources to accelerate implementation of Green Cleaning practices through EcoSmart.
EcoSmart brings environmentally sensitive practices to cleaning. The program combines SGI’s best practices and the guidelines set forth by organizations such as the United States Green Building Council (“USGBC”), the Environmental Protection Agency
(“EPA”) and Green Seal. Through EcoSmart, SGI assists our customers in creating healthier environments. The EcoSmart Green Cleaning System is a comprehensive strategy that encompasses training, purchasing and operations. It is an approach built on the
belief that green cleaning practices produce tangible customer benefits.
SGI, whenever possible and practical, purchases and uses cleaning products that have received the “Green Seal”, which is the mark of environmental responsibility. Green Seal provides information on products deemed safe to the environment, and assists companies such as SGI in their efforts to “green" their purchasing, operations and management functions.
