November 04, 2005: Service Group, Inc. Begins New Clean and Safe Program in Mobile, AL

Clean and safe services for the DMDMC are provided by Service Group Inc. of Malvern,PA. Clean Team employees will be using mechanized sweepers and vacuums for litter control and will be handling landscaping duties. The five full time employees will be dressed in purple shirts and gold hats.

A temporary crew of employees have been assisting with hurricane cleanup in the district since late September. Regular routes for permanent employees are currently being established and will be operational by mid-November.

Five full time Safety Guides are being trained to handle a myriad of duties including regular route patrols, client assistance, first aid, CPR and visitor attraction information. Safety Guides will also wear the purple/gold color combination of the district.

SGI Project Manager for the Downtown Mobile District is Lyn Reed. Clayton Ratledge has been named Assistant Project Manager.
